Frequently Asked Questions
What makes you different to other dog walkers and pet sitters?
At Paws & Wild, we pride ourselves in putting animal welfare first. All of our team have had experience with a wide range of animals as well as our own pets at home. Our director Bekki has a degree in Zoo Management and Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management. Every member of our team has also taken or is taking a level 2 First Aid course for pets so we can be at our best for you and your pets. We understand that your pets are part of your family, and we treat your pets how we would expect our own to be treated. This is also why we ensure that our visits and walks are on a one-on-one basis, giving your pet the time and attention they deserve.
Will you walk my dog at a specific time?
We will try and accommodate the time that you request, for example if you are working 9am-5pm and would like your dog to be walked between 12pm-2pm, we will aim to visit your pooch during those times. However, this is not a guarantee and we can't account for unexpected delays such as traffic or other bookings and their locations.
What time will you visit my pet?
As previously said, with regards to walks we will try and visit your pet within the time frame you’ve asked for. If we are ever running late we will inform you at our earliest convenience to ensure that you are happy for us to still pop in.
Why are your prices for single dog walks cheaper than most other walkers?
At Paws & Wild our top priority is animal welfare, not income. Ensuring that our canine friends are happy on their walks is our top priority. We believe that single walks should always be cheaper as not all dogs like going on group walks. This is down to a number of factors, such as age, not getting along with other dogs or simply because the owner prefers them to have 1-1 time with their walker. All of our group walks are only ever performed with dogs from the same household.
Will you walk my dog around my area?
Yes we will. For your peace of mind, and ensuring the dog feels more comfortable, we will walk your dogs around the area that they are collected from and familiar with. We understand that some dogs don’t like cars or travelling too far, so encourage a walk around their area to keep them happy and stress free.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have full liability insurance and cover for your pets, should they need to go to the vet for any reason.
What happens in an emergency?
In the unfortunate case of an emergency, we will contact you ASAP. If First Aid can be performed on the pet, the Care Assistant will do this in the first instance. Once First Aid has been administered, the Care Assistant will take your pet to the nearest vets.
Will you send me updates about my pet?
Yes, we will take photos on walks or on visits and send upon your request. We will ask for permission to post any photos on social media.
Can I use your services occasionally or do I need to book in blocks?
If you require us for 1 day or multiple days, we are happy to help whenever we can. Block bookings are welcomed but we are also happy to do single bookings.
Do you do refunds?
Yes, if eligible within our terms and conditions, refunds will be issued as soon as is reasonably possible. If you are not eligible for a refund, a credit note will be attached to your customer file to reduce the cost of future bookings.
Do you cover all of Manchester?
Yes! While we are listed as South & East Manchester, we are looking to expand and are happy to travel within the entire Greater Manchester area.
Where in Staffordshire do you cover?
Our main availability is in Stoke-On-Trent, but we are able to travel to Stafford & Stone.
How will you collect my dog or visit my pet for the first time?
For most bookings, we will need a key or access to your property where your pets are kept. More details can be discussed upon booking.
Can I work for you?
We hire Care Assistants on a self-employed basis, which we feel provides the potential for a strong income and flexibility. Please visit our careers page for more information and contact us via email.
